Bajo Frio Hydroelectric Power Plant
BAJO FRIO HYDROELECTRIC PROWER PLANT, 62 MW (IN OPERATION SINCE AUGUST OF 2015)
The Project is a gravity dam of 56 m height and 405 m of length, measured over the crest of the dam.
The Project included three Power Houses: La Potra, where has been installed three Turbogenerator units consisting of Kaplan Turbines and vertical shaft Synchronous Generators with a total Output of 28 MW; one Auxiliary Power House consisting of a Francis-type Turbine and horizontal shaft Synchronous Generator of 2.10 MW Output; and finally Salsipuedes HPP with three Turbogenerator units consisting of three Kaplan Turbines and vertical shaft Synchronous Generators with a total Output of 28 MW.
The Work consists of the conditioning of the access roads to the Dam, one bridge over the Chiriqui River, a conveyance channel of 2.1 km length, the loading chamber and the intake for the Salsipuedes Power House located at the end of the adduction channel, and a discharge channel with approximately length of 110 m whereby the water is restored to the Chiriqui Viejo River in the Province of Chiriqui.
Performed Services:
- Erection of the main and auxiliary equipment of the Power House.
- Support in the Commissioning of the electromechanical equipment until its operation.
- Supply, Manufacturing, Transport and Erection of the filling pipeline for the adduction channel.
